Five months after getting shot while performing her duties, Brooklyn Parent Coordinator Judith Daniels returns to work with a smile and a positive attitude. Ms. Daniels said the experience has opened her eyes. “The community has been more aware of gun violence since the shooting,” Ms. Daniels said. She plans on organizing an event on Brooklyn-Queens Day where elected officials, the NYPD, community organizers, etc, will come together to teach the community alternatives to gun violence. “There’s work to be done!”
